Just in case my six word sentence is in quotes.

I’m 59, but I look 25.

Rock band in my 40’s. Still cool after high school.

I think I might be a lesbian cause I kissed a girl once. But then again I hooked up with a couple guys after I came out. SO MUCH DRAMA! But I’m hot, so I don’t have to be a genius.

I was a nerd in high school. But I’ve grown up in every kind of way. Making up for it now so come on honey.

Desperate to get my husband jealous. All I need is one night! Will pay. \

Loved the abused and messed up. Anyone who has drug or alcohol use problems, call me. I’ll save you!

Gave up on men, trying women.

Pretend to be, but don’t know.

"In denial about a-lot of things."

"Nature lover, soccer player, Fun doer"

"An extrovert who like to be alone"

"Never lies, Never tells, Never lives"

To me at 12 during 6th grade.

Dear Katja don't be scared to be in a new school. Be outgoing and you will soon be happy at Albany Middle. You'll end up having some great friends so don't worry! Be yourself, go ahead and say whatever comes to mind! I've seemed to have lost that trait over the years and I want it back. Don't let anyone tell you who you are. Let yourself be the one who creates your identity, not other people. Sing your heart out in the shower, and shake it like a salt shaker in your living room.

Definitely keep playing sports, but try to convince dad to let you stay on the Bay Oaks, because I think you will end up being a lot happier over there. Do track again and instead of running the wimpy 100 and 200 try the 400. You will end up being a lot better at that race even though it is not the most fun run. You will be really good at track and cross-country, but try to take it a little more seriously; then you become even better. Try new sports like volleyball, and rockclimbing, skip basketball (you will never be good at that, no offense). Never stop these sports like so many other people will. You’ll learn later on that these are the things that keep you going in life.

Try to stay in better contact with your old friends from Chabot Elementary. If you don't you'll lose your friendship with them very soon. Email, call whatever. I know it's hard, but try to anyway.

You could try to study a little bit harder, there's always room for that. Work hard in school, but do it in a way where you’re still enjoying it.

Love and respect your brother. Your sibling (especially twin!) is your best friend. They are the ones that will always stay with you know matter what. Also you can't hide anything from them because they know all your family secrets that you won't tell even your closets friends. I know that even when I tell you this you won't understand but it the future you will.

Skip reading Seventeen and Teen People and pick up an economist.

Try to get along with your parents and accept the positives and negatives of their relationship. Take more backpacking trips with dad and go to more museums with mom. Help dad with the garden more.

Take time to enjoy the small things in life. Lay on the roof more and look at the stars. Study bugs and flowers in the back yard. Start reading more books that interest you.

In terms of friends I think you’re basically covered. But one piece of advice, be yourself. Say what you want to say don’t hold anything back, if something bothers you don’t hold it back. If you don’t, in time you might be taken advantage and manipulated of by your friends. Stay close to the ones that are loyal and ditch the ones that aren’t.

Old people just pull at my heartstrings. They are soo cute! I live near an elderly home so I see old people often. Last night I saw this cute old grandpa and his son walking down the street. I don't know how to explain my love for these people, but it is just undeniable. There is certain kind of old person though. I can't stand the about to die old person, who is covered with veins that are popping out. The cutest kind of old person is the grandma or grandpa who is healthy and takes walks every day. They can have a cane or something to help them walk, but they still have to have some spark to them. I was driving with my mom once and I saw this woman with bright reddish auburn hair. She was walking across the street and she was so cute. One of those grandmas where you could just tell that she had so much personality. That's another thing I like about old people, the men are so nice and sweet and the woman are spunky and opinionated.

Some people say that everyone will remember their first address, mine: 5577 Taft street, Rockridge, Oakland.

One of my top snacks to eat is grapefruit. I know a lot of people don't like grapefruit. But after you try my way, I don't know how you couldn't crave for it 24-7. The trick is to peel of the skin that covers each individual grapefruit piece. The skin is what makes the grapefruit bitter. Once you peel off the bitter part, it is just sweet, yummy grapefruit goodness, no honey needed!

Another pet-peeve is when people have heads that are too small for their bodies. I find it so disgusting to look at. It reminds me of the people from Men in Black.

Yes, I am the world’s worst storyteller. It’s sad because I do have some good stories, but they never come out right. I blame it on my brother, who was a always the one interrupting my stories and telling the rest of it. I guess I just never needed to be a good storyteller because he would always tell them. Now whenever I remember a good story, I just remind someone of the time and then let him or her tell the story.

One of my pet-peeves in when someone won’t tell u their honest opinion. For example when you just honestly don’t care what movie you want to watch, but they think your just trying to be nice and so they go, oh I don’t care either. But you really just can’t decide on what movie, but refuse to tell you what movie, so you end up not even watching one.

Chocolate definitely one of the worlds best foods. But I admit that sometimes I get bored of the generic chocolate bar. If you love kinda weird dark chocolate, try Dagoba-lavender chocolate. Also, another really good one, Chocolove chocolate with cherries and almonds. Not only is this chocolate amazing, but it comes with a love poem inside.

Road trips are one of my favorite things to do. I have done a lot of mini road trips cause of soccer. Road trips are the time when it’s just me and my dad and we talk about whatever. Nobody else is in the car distracting us. My half sister who is 3 is yelling and screaming, my step-mom isn’t getting mad at every little thing, my brother isn’t there taking all the attention. Usually my dad would be really distracted, with whatever he does. But on road trips he listens to whatever I have to say and I listen to whatever he has to say. Road trips are probably the only reason that I am still as close to my dad as I am.

Just to add on to my road trip blurb, Trader Joe’s is by far the best place to get road trip food. They have the most and the best snacks of any store. My favorites: the light popcorn and the sesame seeds and honey covered cashews.

I feel that every girl except for me wore jellies, and what little girly shows. No what I did in my childhood is be the only girl in my brother’s boy scouts, pick up big beetles and show my dad, played magic cards and watch star Trek.

Percepolis-MOVie

After reading many reviews on Percepolis, the movie, I was extremely excited to see the movie. Not only because of it’s amazing reviews, but also I could practice my French. Percepolis is a French film based on the autobiography by Marjane Satrapi. It takes place in Iran during a rough period in Iranian history. The story is captivating about Satrapi’s life in this hard time, then having to move to France to get away from the danger. But in France she struggles with being an outsider, racism and the fact that she has no real home in France. About 7 years later she returns to the same amount of caous. But this time she is more mature, and ready to take on the battle of fighting agaisnt the government. I love it when a movie has a little somethng something of history because then you feel like not only did you enjoy this movie, but you also get to pull out a random facto about Iran whenever.

Not only is the story interesting, but so is the way they created it. Just watching the trailer makes my heart jump. The movie is full of all kinds of different feelings. First it starts of with humour when she is a little kid. How she is so curious, and doesn’t realize how some serious matters are so important. Then the movie slowly moves into frustration, with her life as a teenager living in france. Fianally the last major emotion would be success at finally understanding who she is and were she fits into the world. From the way that the animated movie is just black, white, and grey. These plain images come to life with the combination of the characters, and spirit in this movie. I love the fact that it is black and white, I get so distracted from the true message of a movie when it is made for a 3 year old child, and the colors are flashing in my face. There is something about animation that you can never capture in acting, and I like the fact that I can go to an animated film without bringing along your 6 yearold sister. I don’t want to ruine it for the people who haven’t seen it so I’ll just end this with saying that not only is this a well, written, and technically created movie, but it is also one off those movies that just makes you want to get up and save the whole world. Also I went with my brother, who takes spanish, and always makes fun of the French language ; and he loved the movie ! No madder who you are this movie is made for YOU!

Katja wakes up in the morning and checks her email in her hotel room. She receives an email saying that she has a A+ in all of her classes. Then she lazily gets out of bed and call room service, ordering poached eggs, a fruit cup, and a hot chocolate. Her dad knocks on the door and tells her it is time to go. She is in Vancouver for a soccer tournament. She gets her stuff on and walks out the door. She arrives at the sunny field, where the grass has just been cut and there are no holes in the field. A crowd is just arriving our game. We warm up, and now the game starts. The other team was the last years champions, but we are the new team in town and we are ready to win. The first half starts, they score. But by the second half it is1-1 us. There are 5 minuets left and everyone is scrapping for a goal. There is a corner kick for us. Jill is about to kick and I run in immediately losing the girl marking me, I jump and scissor kick it into the back of the net. The crowd is screaming. The whistle blows and we have won! After the award ceremony, I receive a call that I have one the raffle for the new porche. I am so excited that we have to celebrate. So I decide to go to the city and shopping with the money I received from the tournament. I find this amazing dress at Bloomingdales that are on sale for only 20 dollars. Then I go Marc Jacobs and they give me one of their latest dresses because they want me to advertize their clothes. This extremely hot guy is checking me out so I decide to go clubbing with him in the hottest club in Vancouver. We spend the whole night together.

Hi, my name is Katja Bergstrom. I’m 27 years old living in Africa with my husband Brad. I’m a doctor here, and I run the nearest medical clinic. Brad is a teacher at the local college. We came here together when we were both 20 years old. We live in a small house in a small town in the Cote d’Ivoire. Some people might think of our life as really poor and we don’t have very much, but this isn’t true. The people here treat us with their upmost respect. Since I’m the only doctor in this part of town, they are very grateful to have me here. On Sundays Brad and I go to the market and get an assortment of foods, such as cous cous and bananas. We decided to live here because, Brad and I truly love it here. It has become our home and one day we might leave, but it won’t be in the near future.

One thing he and I really like about Africa is the weather, it is really sunny and warm all year round, even when the great storms come it is still warm even though it is raining like cats and dogs. I think the only thing that is bad about Africa is that there are snakes everywhere and they are really dangerous.

But overall I don’t think I’m ever going to leave. I love my work. I love the people and the weather here. Most of all I love my husband, who is always right by my side.

Well I don’t really have the best memory, but lets see if I can remember some of my wacky styles.

From probably when I was about five or six, I loved to go shopping. My mom would take me to the nearest used clothes stores and I would dream I own everything in it. It had to be all pink too, from head to toe. Also all my outfits had to match perfectly and I wouldn’t leave the house without making sure.

Next was kind of Dad influenced. I would wear regular clothes, which included a shirt and a skirt, but then I would trap on a pair of Tevas. Well Tevas were definitely not the greatest style ever. Those big bulky sandals with the straps that go every which way on your foot.

But once I got introduced to soccer everything changed. After that it was all shorts and shirts from one of my myriad soccer tournaments. All my friends played soccer and they all dressed about the same. I thought it was so fashionable to wear athletic wear and have all these different pairs of shorts. I basically looked like I was going running 24 hours a day. I remember going to the giant sports store at the Emeryville mall and telling myself that when I got older I would just have clothes from that store. I stuck with that style till I was in 7th grade, sometimes adding a pair of jeans here and there. In the end I didn’t really care about what I was wearing I just through on a pair of shorts and a shirt.

I guess my last style leading up to the one I have right now is the Abercrombie style. Yes sadly I did go through this stage where I thought that Abercrombie was the greatest store. I would rush in there every time I was at the Emeryville mall. Its liked the style were you have twenty different layers, but they never seem to cover your chest enough. I definitely just have nightmares thinking about it.

Now I still definitely wear things that I bought from Abercrombie, and love them; but I don’t think I am going to shop there in the future. Right now I’d say that my three favorite stores are Urban Outfitters, J. Crew, and Anthropologie. Anthropologie is probably my favorite out of the three. In one sentence I would describe its style as crazy, artistic, and they know how to make clothes. Or the people they buy them from do. At Anthro. I usually buy their amazing dresses. They have all these very beautiful colorful dresses that are to die for. Another thing that I really like is their shirts, which come in all shapes and sizes an are also very color ful and dramatic. Because Anthropologie is on the expensive side, I hit that sale area a lot!

My style has always changed a lot, from pink to sports, and right now if I had to describe my style to you I would have no Idea what to say, I like many things, from many different kinds of styles. From dresses, to jeans, sneakers and a tee, I could never categorize myself.

Ok, so what do I talk about. Yeah I guess I talk more in class then what actually goes in my head. I am a really boring person. I feel sorry for the person who has to read this. But anyways. I guess I will talk about soccer cause that is a important part of my life. Its great and I love it. exciting hugh? Well school seasons almost over and I’m kinda pissed because I really didn’t get to play that much because I injured my knee and my coach doesn’t like knee injuries and is really careful about them. Over all I like him though. But sometimes he gets really annoying like the other day when he told me I was going to be able to play and then the next day I am all ready, with my uniform on and everything and I give him my doctors note and he says," it’s ok you’re not going to be able to play anyway." I was so pissed I was about to turn around and slap him. Not only for being a retarded ASS! But also for making me get up early on a Saturday and go to the game and make me sit in the rain when I was told that I could play. But yeah besides that soccer is really great. OH fuck! I forgot to turn on my timer oh well I guess I will just take like 5 min off. Heheheh. Well anyways whoever is thinking about trying out for soccer do so. And btw if you like running which I guess no one actually does, do track because we need a lot of ppl right now. This is so boring, Oh I just talked to my brother yesterday, he lives in Washington Virginia. Before a very short time ago I thought that Washington D.C. was in New York or something and I also thought that Chicago was a state. Yeah I know, I am really smart. Whatever you can’t know everything. Welll what else, my mind is totally blank right now there is no one in the house to distract me or anyone to write about. My brother(Ross not in D.C.) is going to Churches Chicken right now. God how can anyone even eat at those kind of places, I mean the place just screams trans fat. Whatever he can do whatever he wants, besides no madder how much he eats that boy will never get fat. I swear yesterday he eat like 3 bowls of spaghetti. I know what you’re thinking unfair right? Well I guess. This whole Case thing is really annoying I hope it isn’t hard. I swear I am going to be one of the ppl who just totally fails it. Did anyone watch the super bowl. Why am I asking questions. I love Kleenex. Ok times up!!

Rap Game-50 cent

"I've never fucked up to where I can't whoop ya ass." This clearly relates to Spade because no madder how much he drinks, he is never too drunk to be on top of the situation at hand. This is also a key trait of a Hard-boiled Detective. "I'm all for America, fuck the government ." I think that Spade seems very pro America and has lots of nationalism. Although he doesn’t like the cops. I think cops are very similar to the police."What happens: these dudes get rude then I lose it
I'm scandalous, I blow ya two kids off the atlas ." This reminds me of Spade’s temper. It seems that whenever he talks to the police he gets very angry, and starts yelling and swearing. I don’t know if they are annoying him or he just does it to get what he wants. "Everywhere you turn you see me, you hear me. Believe me, before you see my pistol in 3-D. No time to call a peace treaty" If Spade needs to he will follow you and will do a good job of it. Also you probably don’t want to be on his bad side, if he needs to he’d probably kill you.

Still Don’t Give a Fuck-Eminem

"But if I offended you? Good. Cause I still don't give a fuck." I don’t think that Spade really cares about what anyone thinks of him. He is his own person and their opinion doesn’t matter. "Got your girl on my arm and I'm armed with a firearm." Spade has so many girls. He has regular visits from his x partners wife, an intimate relationship with Brigid O’Shanassy, and flirts regularly with his secretary. "I get imaginative with a mouth full of adjectives,
a brain full of adverbs, and a box full of laxatives." I think this also relates to Spade’s swearing. I guess you could call them a mouthful of adjectives. He definitely intimidates people with his words, and his temper doesn’t really negatively affect him or his success.

Gin and Juice-Snoop Dogg

"Rollin down the street, smokin indo, sippin on gin and juice. Laid back [with my mind on my money and my money on my mind]" I feel like this line represents Spade. I can see him now rollin down the street, with his mind on his money. Spade is definitely aware of money, and he likes receiving it too even if he tries to hide it. "But (but what) we don’t love them hoes, yeah!" Spade loves woman is some way, but he definitely doesn’t respect them. He flirts with woman all day long just cuss he feels like it. He also has multiple relationships. "I got a crew, but I choose to roll solo." Spade is a solo rollin kind of guy. I don’t think he has any, male, friends. This is probably because he is busy or he isn’t very social. To tell you the truth, Spade would not be someone I would want to be buddies with anyway.

I’m not Down-The Clash

"I've been shown up, but I've grown up. And I'm not down, I'm not down." I think there is another side to spade that people don’t pay attention to. I think the reason why spade is so tough is because he has been hurt by other women and doesn’t want it to happen again. I think this is why he doesn’t fall for Brigid because he has been through it before and doesn’t want to take his chances again. In the end he doesn’t play the hurt man he plays the tough non caring man who could never get hurt by love. "On my own I faced a gang of jeering in strange streets. When my nerves were pumping and I. Fought my fear in, I did not run." Spade has definitely been in a dangerous situation before. He always keeps his cool even when inside his heart might be pumping hard. He doesn’t let anyone see his week side. I think this is also why his face is so placid. "So you rock around and think that. You're the toughest"

My Humps-Black Eyed Peas

"All that junk inside your trunk? I'ma get, get, get, get, you drunk,Get you love drunk off my hump."
I think that this song represents all femme fatales. They use their body and their good looks to get the things that they want. "I drive these brothers crazy,I do it on the daily,They treat me really nicely,They buy me all these ices." In this case the thing that she wants is money. "I say no, but they keep givin', So I keep on takin', And no I ain't taken,We can keep on datin'. I keep on demonstrating." I think in the book Brigid tries to play the helpless card. Where she didn’t try to make fall in love with her. Also that she is in danger and she needs help, when actually she has the whole situation under control. .

One meal that I know every one in America has had is thanksgiving dinner. Doesn’t your mouth just start watering at only the words? Thanksgiving dinner is something that I always look for not only is it the homemade combination of those old recipes, but also the fact that your whole family is together enjoying a meal.

Let’s start with the turkey. Not only when you are eating it is it delicious, but you also recognize the fact that someone in your family (or whole foods) labored over that bird. I mean you have to do all these weird things like check the temperature every 10 minutes and more. The turkey also goes with every thing one the plate: cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green beans, and gravy.

Oh that buttery goodness of those golden mashed potatoes. Personally I could live off them. Just how they melt in your moth after you take a bite is my favorite part. Oh and my advice put some pepper on it; that makes it even better. They’re not even hard to make either that’s my help in the dinner just peal, add milk, butter, and potatoes.

Very similar to mashed potatoes are the sweat potatoes. Just imagine those delicious mashed potatoes, plus a little bit of kick. These are my grandma’s recipe and since she isn’t here today it helps me know and love a little part of her.  I could eat mountains of sweat potatoes, but unfortunately at the last thanks giving my mom didn’t make enough for one person.

Greens beans oh green beans probably the only healthy part of this meal, but still so damn good. I love the fact that they crunch in you mouth; also the fact that you can sometimes get away with using you hands. My mom makes them with butter and lemon zest and I am just dieing thinking about them. When ever I feel that I have eaten way too much mashed potatoes or something too buttery I just pop in my mouth a couple of green beans.

Do not, I mean do not forget the cranberry sauce. Another family recipe; cranberry sauce is one of my favorites. My mom cooks it with oranges witch is just my life all in one bowl (make that 10 bowls) of cranberry sauce.  I love eating turkey with a little bit of cranberry sauce.  Cranberry sauce, unfortunately, is another one of those ingredients that there is never enough of it. The best part of cranberry sauce is the fact that it is kind of a desert, but it is not considered one so you get two deserts in one night.

Stuffing is the one thing that I just don’t get. I mean it is just soggy bread; it is just disgusting.  It is my brother’s favorite part, but oh god I can’t even help looking at him when he eats it. I tell my self every year when I am going for the serving, oh that looks okay, maybe you will like it this year. But hell no! There will never be a day when I like stuffing.

Gravy that’s all I have to say another think that goes with basically everything, except cranberry sauce. When I get the gravy I just pour it over my whole plat, because it just makes everything taste that much better.

Last, but definitely not least pumpkin pie is the best desert made. Not only is it slightly good for you, but it is just so damn good. I love the spices in pumpkin pie. I just found a new love for anything and everything with pumpkin things in it.

Not only is thanksgiving a meal that you can definitely look forward to, but also the social part. It is probably the only time that I see my mom’s side of the family. My cousins and my aunt and uncle, who I absolutely love, are all there.

1. If you could be a fly on anybody's wall, on whose wall would you perch? Why? What would you do with the information?

If I could be a fly one someone’s wall I would be one George Bush’s Wall to see if everyone is right about him doing nothing, so I could know for myself. I agree with the people saying he does nothing, but there still is that little curiosity.

2. What is your favorite piece of art? Describe what it looks like. Why do you like it so much? How does it make you feel? Does it tell a story? Have symbolism? I like it because of the contrast between the blue and the pink. Also how the pink buliding looks, it is this sort of old building

I really like the collage by Joseph Cornell. It is this light pink building with dark green trees surrounding it and a dark blue background.

3. If you could choose your parents, how would they be? Describe how they look, act, and parent. What do they do (for work, hobbies, etc)?

If could choose my parents they would be really athletic, smart, and sophisticated. They would be able to help me on any homework I had, and they would have time to do so. My mom would be a fashion designer and my dad would be a famous soccer player. My dad would be the cool and relaxed one and my mom would be the uptight controlling one, but they would both let me hang out as long as I wanted and wherever I wanted.

4. If you could live in any decade, which one would it be and why? ELABORATE. What opportunities would you take advantage of in said decade?

If I lived in a decade I would of been 20 years old about 20 years ago so that I could try to prevent global warming.

5. If you could/had to be any Disney character, who would it be and why?
If I was a disney character I would be the daughter from the incredibles. One reason is because I would love to have a family of super heros and also because she totally has the best skills.
6. There is a difference between the moral man and the criminal in that the moral man has a legitimate reason to steal. Support or refute this idea (that a person's objectively bad deeds can be justified by the subjectivity of their life).

I disagree with this because this says that someone who has done something wrong before isn’t justified the second time. The person who hasn’t done something wrong before does have a reason.

 The Disease

Written by Katja Bergstrom

There is a disease that just reached America and is starting to spread. This disease cuts off your lungs and prevents you from breathing called perithithai menigitus. Once you contract perithithai menigitus you have about three days to live. The president of the United States just announced that whoever finds the cure will be named the top scientist of America and will receive 1 million dollars. Trent Lott and Rio Tinto are the two top scientists in America at this point they are both fighting for this prize. The only problem is that they both hate each other. They used to be good friends until one day Rio Tinto stole Trent’s great new experiment and said that he had done it. Now it is not only a race to get the cure to the American people it is also a race to the 1million dollars.  They both set to work immediately; they first study one person who has the disease. Her breathing is heavy and her eyes have turned grey. The scene switches from Trent to Rio both working very hard, but soon it gets late and Rio goes to bed, but Trent stays up. The next morning Rio wakes and one of his assistant scientist informs him that they better hurry up because Trent has found the cure. Rio instead of going to work right away goes out to meet some one. This unknown person seems familiar, but we don’t know who he is until Rio says his name. It is in fact someone from Trent’s lab, who gives the cure to Rio. Rio immediately calls the president himself and tells him that he has found the cure. Doctors start giving it to their patients and the symptoms go away, their eyes become clear and they don’t have trouble breathing anymore. But soon there after the patient’s symptoms come back. Rio gets yelled at for not testing it fully, while Trent hears of this news and starts testing again. Soon there back where they started and are testing again. But suddenly Rio’s daughter gets the disease and now it’s personal. Rio starts working around the clock then he gets the disease too. It is up to Trent now to save the American people and his biggest enemy and his daughter. Trent, not being a selfish man soon finds the cure and saves everyone. Trent gets the job as top scientists and the 1 million dollars. Rio isn’t disappointed he is just happy that he and his daughter still have their lives.

In the beginning when you see Rio the background music will be showing that he is sly and tricky, and when you see Trent the music will be of bravery. The movie will be switching between Rio and Trent, and sometimes you will see them both at the same time. Half the screen will be Trent and half will be Rio. Also when you see Rio, it will be tinted slightly dark green and when you see Trent it will be tinted slightly yellow.

If I was going to invent something It would be a drink that  would give a bunch on energy so you didn't have to sleep. I wish I could just stay up all night long, but I get tired. I would get so much done if I didn't have to sleep. So if I had a drink, or anything that I could just take and it would make me untired. I would be able to do so many things that I wish I could do, but don't have enough time.

1. What is your favorite book?

I don’t really have a favorite book, but my favorite author is Patricia Palocco she is a children’s book author, and I always read her books as a child. I love every single one of her books they are might be short, but each one has a little message that is very uplifting.

2. If you could/had to live in any country besides the United States, where would it be?

I would live in India. When I think of India it just sounds full of things that are so interesting, like spices, and elephants, and dancing. I would love to live in India, even though I have never been there.

3. Who is your favorite superhero?

My favorite superhero would have to be super woman. One because I am not much of a superhero person and two because I have to have that feminist view. GO Woman Power!!

4. If you could change any one law, what would it be?

If I could change one law it would be that gays and lesbians are not allowed to be married. I think this is the worst law I have ever heard. There is not one person who has given me a good reason for why we have this law, besides religion. America is supposed to have freedom of religion, right?

5. Is life a matter of reality or is it all just based on perception?

I think that in some ways life is a matter of reality, for example, everybody does live and breath and think. In other ways it is a matter of perception, live life how they want to live it.

6. Is it better to be too hot or too cold?

I think it is better to be too cold, because when I am too cold I can just put a sweatshirt on and then I am warm again. But when I am too hot it is really hard to get to a comfortable temperature.

7. Which is better: to get in a car accident that isn't your fault and lose a leg or to get into a car accident that is your fault and kill an old lady?

I am going to be really selfish and say that I would rather be my fault and kill an old lady. I don’t ever want to lose a leg, my legs are very precious to be, even more than an old lady’s.

8. Do you believe that pain and suffering is a necessary part of life?

I think that it is, maybe not to the point of which people are experiencing it today, but definately pain is something that we cannot prevent, and suffering too.

9. Is animal testing acceptable?

I don’t really know a lot about animal testing I think it would be fine if the people testing were just, maybe, washing them with a new shampoo or dying their hair. As long as it doesn’t affect the animal and they are fairly treated, I think it is acceptable.

10. Do you believe that ghosts exist?

No, I do not believe that ghost exist. Ghosts are just something that have always know to me as make believe.

12. Do you believe that school is the best way to make a person smarter?

No, I think that the best way to make a person smarter is through their own experience. A person can be told something in school, but if they actually went to the place it happened or were in a country where they actually needed to use it they would learn it a lot faster, and remember it a lot better.

14. Do you believe that war can be justified?

So far I haven’t heard a reason that justifies a war. So no I don’t think so, through past experience.

15. If you could switch your gender, but it had to be permanent, would you?

No, I wouldn’t switch my gender because I am happy the way I am.

16. Do you think you are anyone's favorite person in the world?

No, I think that I am not any one’s favorite person in the world.

If I was an animal I think that I would be a monkey. To me monkeys like to laugh and have fun, really loud, but sometimes they don’t know when to stop. I think I share a lot of those characteristics. Not to mention I love bananas and my birth year is the year of the monkey.

I love to have fun and laugh. Whenever I saw the monkeys at the zoo they were always screaming. I guess I am kind of like that too. People have told me that I am really loud when I don’t mean to. Even though I don’t mean to my whole family is like that both my parents are lawyers so I blame them for making me talk so loud. Monkeys also jump around in the trees and swing and have fun. I am all about having fun and playing around although swinging from trees would not be my first choice. I eat about 3 bananas a day, I just love them I also love banana ice cream and my sandwich every day is bananas and peanut butter. So, that makes me very similar to monkeys. If I was in an animal form I would definitely be a monkey

My passion is soccer. I started at the age of 6 loving everything about it. My coach Cinthia was my first and my best coach, she was my best friends mother and was going to play on the national team, but she became pregnant with my best friends Amber, and Dominique. She introduced this sport to be in such a way were I could never forget about it. It wasn’t just playing soccer, it was the attitude too. The non stop attitude, even at six every one fought as hard as they could. I still watch videos of my soccer games, there was a girl on my team with bright blonde hair and every times she got near the ball she would just slide tackle it. That reminds me of another time when it was pouring rain and completely muddy and the whole practice we just slide tackled in the mud getting completely covered in mud but it was so much fun, I will never forget that day.

Soccer is something that gives my life meaning, that holds me together, and keeps me from doing things I would regret. I’m obsessed with everything that has to do with soccer, the smooth grass, the sound of the ball when you strike it perfectly, and how it brings people together that wouldn’t be friends otherwise. I am always looking forward to soccer because there I can let out my anger and frustration. Also when I am at soccer all my problems are gone for that 2 hour period I am lost in a world were nothing can hurt me, or bother me. I am just playing, playing the sport that I love. I am a whole new person I am someone who is completely happy and never has problems, I am someone who works hard, and I am someone one who is honest. My problems I might of happened at home or school are gone, I am completely lost in my passion of soccer.

The people on my team are very diverse we have people from Pinole, El Cerrito, Albany, Berkeley, and many other schools. I get to talk to people that I would never just go up to and talk to, but here it is so easy, one because we all share the love of soccer, and being on my team we are really close and whenever something bothers us we talk about it. They are so different from my friends at school. At Albany I hang out with mostly people with white skin color, I am not saying that I don’t talk to other people, because I do, but we don’t hang out. At soccer there are so many different ethnicities and I get to talk and playing with people that are so different from me. One of my best friends is a girl named Vanessa who goes to Pinole, and is Black and Mexican. She is completely different that me, but we are always together laughing and talking about the most random things. Being good at playing soccer is really important, but also being close off the field is really important.

Soccer also keeps me and my dad close. One of my favorite parts of soccer is the traveling to the tournaments and being there. I could never have enough of those long drives with my dad, were nothing is in the way of just us two talking and catching up. Those drives keep us close and without that couple of hours I don’t think I would share the same relationship with him, because I barley ever see him. When I am at a tournament it isn’t just a couple hours when I am in a different life it is for 2 days where there is nothing to bother me except for my team losing. Being at the hotel with all my soccer teammates just playing around in the pool. Going to diner is always crazy I can remember spitting out water at least three times because someone said something while I was drinking.

Soccer is my passion. My passion is soccer.

Fear Blog

A childhood fear that I had and still have is one of sharks. I am so deathly afraid of sharks. I can’t go in the ocean or in a pool without thinking about sharks. This fear is one that I collected from movies over the years that have haunted me ever since. I hope that one day this fear will disappear because one day I want to be able to swim happily in any type of water without being scared that my feet are going to get bitten off.

When ever I go to the beach I lay in the warm, relaxing sand, and eventually I go into the water. But this is not so fun for me because of my fear of sharks. When ever I even place my toe in the water I calculate how far I can go before I shark would be able to get me, and I never go beyond that point. I never go full on swimming in the water because I can’t stand it. Lakes too this summer when I was swimming at lake ?Temescale? up in Tilden when I got in the water and was swimming in the deeper end I was so scared. One reason is because you can’t see the bottom at Tempescale and that is so frightening. I mean what if I big shark just spotted you and was swimming, swimming up to get a big chomp out of you and you couldn’t even see it. This image just gives me shudders thinking about it. Pools too, don’t make fun of me. I know whoever is going to read this is like how the hell can you be scared of sharks in a pool, but I am. Yes, a pool is clear, and yes how is a shark going to get in there. Some how this fear has haunted me my whole life and probably will till I’m old and can’t remember what sharks are.

This fear did not come from my parents, but from the movies. Such movies as James Bond and of course Jaws have consumed my thought as I even think about going in water. In one of the James Bond movies, he is thrown in to a pool where secretly sharks come out of these holes in the pool walls. Whenever I go into a pool I look down to make sure that there are no holes in the walls. I haven’t even seen the whole Jaws movie yet it scares me. I can just picture this huge great white coming to bite my leg off.

My brother has told me a thousand times, and I have told myself that you are more likely to get struck with lightening then get bitten by a shark, but it doesn’t help my fear is still inside me. I don’t think I will ever get ride of this fear, which means I will never be able to go snorkeling or Scuba diving because of my fear of sharks, but I guess it is better that having only one leg.

I think the song, Where is the Love, by the Black Eyed Peas is a song that really has a message worth sharing about the world. I think the message that the Black Eyed Peas are giving is that there is a lot of violence in the world, and how people are selfish. All these messages and more are put into one amazing song that I still enjoy listening to. What I love about the song is that you can choose whether you hear the message or not, the message isn’t scary, in your face. The Black Eyed Peas sing it in a way that is meaningful, but also still nice to listen to.
The main part of writing this song was to try to send a message about gang violence. As we all know there is a lot of gang violence in the world and especially in America.
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate”
A lot of people learn about the KKK in history in somewhere around 7th grade, but the question is: Do they care? Are they actually taking the fact that people can do such horrible things to other human beings? I think that a lot of people don’t. Maybe they hold their breath for a couple of second and even say “oh that’s so horrible” but after they are let out of class the real thought on their minds are, “it will never happen to me”, or “what am I supposed to do about it”.

Another strong message I got out of the song was that people can be selfish. They just worry about what the ipod is in stores and how much money they are making.               “Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' our wrong direction”

“Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother”

Our whole society is based on profit and being rich. People don’t worry about people in other countries that might be sick or dying because they are selfish and don’t want to give any of it away.

These messages are only an examples of the many messages in this song. Even though many people have heard it and it is way over played, I still choose this song because I think it is a great example of a song that sends a great message to people in the world, mainly the us. When I say all this I am definitely not saying that I am not one of those selfish people. The important thing is that I want to change and help the world. Where is the Love? really helped me to see what is wrong with the world.
